Global Gala

is an inspirational evening that shines a spotlight on the transformative impact of The King’s Trust on a young person’s life. Guests hear directly from young people currently supported by The Trust and learn the stories of some of The King’s Trust’s most distinguished alumni.

The inaugural King’s Trust Global Gala will take place on Thursday May 2, 2024, in New York and will be chaired by King’s Trust Global Ambassador and Chairman of the Global Ambassadors Group, Lionel Richie, and King’s Trust Global Ambassador, Edward Enninful OBE.

FUNDS RAISED THROUGH THE GLOBAL GALA HAVE ALREADY DIRECTLY SUPPORTED THOUSANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE

TEAM FRUITSY, RWANDA

In January 2023, Team Fruitsy became the inaugural winner of The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Challenge in Rwanda.

Fruitsy is a healthy smoothie stand located in the Gisimenti commercial zone in the city of Kigali. Team Fruitsy, made up entirely of school students, plans to spend their prize money on a blender and recipe planning from a professional nutritionist, as they prepare to set up their business in real life.

BLAKE, UK

After leaving school early, Blake decided to take some positive action and enrolled on The Prince’s Trust Enterprise program to develop the skills to turn his passion for cooking into a sustainable business.

With The Trust’s mentoring and financial support, Blake launched The Scran Man in 2020, offering takeaway and collection options. Once lockdown ended, The Trust was there to help him adapt his business model to a brick-and-mortar shop in May 2022. Blake now gives back to the community by recruiting local young people as he fulfills his ambitions to expand his business.

SOUTH SIDE BEAUTY SUPPLY, USA

These enterprising high school students from Chicago are building a business that provides their peers with access to affordable beauty and personal hygiene products, and experiences that encourage their classmates to ex plore careers in cosmetology, helping more of their peers find a path to employment.

In May 2023, their community-focused initiative made them the inaugural winners of the Chicago Enterprise Challenge Finals, where they received $1,000 of seed funding to put toward launching their business – Cutz and Lookz.

Thanks to its dazzling red carpet, The Prince’s Trust Global Gala 2023 received coverage in nearly every major fashion and lifestyle media outlet, including, Vogue, WWD, Vanity Fair, People Magazine, Town and Country, The New York Times, and CBS News to name just a few. The coverage of the 2023 Global Gala gained a cumulative total of over nine billion media impressions worldwide.
