Enterprise Challenge

In 2023, The Prince’s Trust, USA, in partnership with City Year, brought it’s acclaimed Enterprise Challenge program to the United States. The Enterprise Challenge is a school-based digital competition where young people are supported by trained volunteers to think about how they apply ethical values to running a business while taking on a range of challenges.

By taking part, young people will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop their confidence and aspirations for what they can achieve
  • Increase their understanding of the world of work and their ability to have a positive impact on their wider community and society at large
  • Build important skills: teamwork, decision making, problem solving, communication, creative thinking and resilience

Together, in New York City and Chicago, this  Enterprise Challenge pilot is supporting 110 young people.

City Year is an ideal partner for The Prince’s Trust, USA as their City Year AmeriCorps members already serve as student success coaches, supporting the development, growth, and success of students in systemically under-resourced schools, while cultivating skills to be leaders in their communities and careers. Given their presence in 29 cities across the United States ,they have a deep understanding of the students’ needs and are already performing a mentorship role within the classroom, which will ensure stronger outcomes at the end of the program.

With the success of these programs, The Prince’s Trust will look to expand delivery to many more young people around the country.
